Christmas Morning Wife Saver Sandwich
|White bread slice||16 , crusts removed|
|Canadian back bacon slice/Sharp cheddar cheese slices||4|
|Dry mustard||1 Teaspoon|
|Minced onion||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Green pepper||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), finely chopped|
|Worcestershire sauce||2 Teaspoon|
|Whole milk||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Tabasco sauce||1 Dash|
In a 9x13 inch buttered glass pan, put 8 slices of bread.
Add pieces to cover dish entirely.
Cover bread with slices of back bacon, sliced thin.
Lay slices of cheddar cheese on top of bacon.
Cover with slices of bread to make it like a sandwich.
In a bowl, beat eggs, salt and pepper.
To the egg mixture add dry mustard, onion, green pepper, Worcestershire sauce, milk and Tabasco.
Pour over the sandwiches, cover and let stand in fridge overnight.
In the morning, melt 1/4 pound butter; pour over top.
Cover with cereal crumbs.
Bake, uncovered, for 1 hour at 350Â°F.
Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
