Barbecued Frank Sandwiches

Ingredients
  Chopped onion 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (Fresh Or Frozen)
  Butter/Margarine 1 Tablespoon
  Frankfurters 5 , thinly sliced
  Applesauce 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Catsup 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Hot Style)
  Vinegar 2 Tablespoon
  Packed brown sugar 1 Tablespoon
  French rolls 5 , split lengthwise, toasted, and buttered
Directions

Cook onion in butter till tender.
Add next 5 ingredients and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
Simmer, uncovered, 15 to 20 minutes.
Serve in French rolls.
Makes 4 or 5 sandwiches.
