1. Toast bread, and butter each piece on 1 side. Split frankfurters in half lengthwise and place on buttered side of 6 slices toast. Spread dressing on frankfurters, and top each sandwich with about 2 tablespoons sauerkraut. Top each with remaining bread slice, buttered side toward cheese.
2. Cook as follows, rotating one-quarter turn halfway through cooking time: 45 to 60 seconds for 1 sandwich; 2 to 2 1/2 minutes for 3 sandwiches; and 3 to 4 minutes for 6 sandwiches.
