I love taking an easy classic sandwich like a ham and cheese and kicking it up a notch. The flavor combinations are so delicious, especially when its heated up so the cheese melts. Swoon. Perfect lunch in my opinion or you can even make it into a dinner by adding a salad
Country style bread slices | 2 | |
Stone ground mustard | 1 Tablespoon | |
Deli ham slices | 5 | |
Gruyere cheese slices | 3 , sliced | |
Fresh pear | 1/2 , sliced | |
Arugula | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
Butter | 1/2 Teaspoon , divided |
MAKING
Spread the mustard on one of the slice. Top with deli ham, followed by the Gruyere cheese, arugula and pear.
Place the other bread slice on top and spread the butter. Heat the griddle and lay the butter side down; press with hands and let it cook until golden brown. Flip and grill on the other side.
SERVING
Slice the sandwich and serve.
