Tomato Salad

Tomato salad is a dish made with fresh and raw tomatoes which is usually served as a hors d´oeuvre, or as a pasta or rice accompaniment.

Preparation of Tomato Salad

For making a hors d´oeuvre, raw tomato is cleaned and sliced and for making an accompaniment dish the tomato is finely chopped instead of slicing. A salad dressing mixture consisting of salt and black pepper in a vinegar and olive oil base is made and poured over the salad. The salad is garnished with chives and shallots. Tomato salad may be prepared using different types of seasonings and in combination with other foods. The salad is preserved chilled for use.
