Asparagus Salad

Ingredients
  Sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Salt To Taste
  Vinegar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Cold water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Unflavored gelatin 2 Tablespoon
  Hot water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Chopped celery 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Chopped toasted pecans 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Asparagus 1 Can (10 oz), cut into bite sized pieces
  Pimento 1 Can (10 oz), cut into strips
  Lemon juice 1⁄2 Tablespoon
  Onion 1 Tablespoon, scraped
Directions

Combine sugar, salt, vinegar and coldwater; bring to a boil.
Continue boiling for 5 minutes.
Dissolve gelatin in hot water.
Remove boiling mixture from heat; add gelatin.
Cool.
Com bine remaining ingredients; add to liquid mixture.
Chill until firm.
