Tossed Fattoush Salad

Fattoush in Arabic means "moistened bread", and this salad consists of a chilled mixed veggies tossed with small cubes of toasted bread. The texture of the toasted bread adds an unusual quality. This is the classic Mediterranean recipe in the style of Syria and Lebanon with torn pita bread and a lemon vinaigrette spiced with a pinch of Aleppo
Ingredients
  Tomatoes 3 , cubed
  Cucumber 1 Small, peeled, quartered lengthwise and chopped
  Green pepper 1 Medium, diced (Seeded, Deribbed)
  Scallions 5 , chopped
  Lettuce 1⁄2 Small, shredded
  Finely chopped parsley/Finely chopped coriander 2 Tablespoon
  Finely chopped mint/1 teaspoon dried mint 1 Tablespoon
  Basil leaves 1 Bunch (100 gm)
  Pita bread 1 , cut into cubes, toasted (2-3 Slices Of Bread)
  Aleppo pepper 1 Pinch
  Dressing 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Combine the vegetables, herbs, and bread. Make the dressing, pour it over the salad, toss well, and chill. Before serving top with more pita bread or croutons to give a a bit of crunch. To give a true Arabic touch, sprinkle salad with sumac and Aleppo pepper.
