Mandarin Orange And Onion Salad

Ingredients
  Canned mandarin oranges 11 Ounce (1 Can)
  Red onion 1 Medium, cut into thin slices
  Poppy seeds 2 Tablespoon
  Extra virgin olive oil 3 Tablespoon
  Red wine vinegar 2 Tablespoon
  Granulated sugar 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt To Taste
  White pepper To Taste
  Bibb lettuce/Arugula /watercress /boston lettuce 3
  Avocado 1 Medium, peeled and sliced thin (Optional)
Directions

GETTING READY
1) In a large, non-metallic container with a lid, mix together mandarin orange segments, onion slices and poppy seeds.Keep the orange mixture aside for use.
2) In a bowl, mix together olive oil, vinegar, sugar, salt and white pepper.The oil mixture is ready.

MAKING
3) Pour oil mixture over orange mixture.
Toss gently to coat the oranges and onions.
4) Cover the metallic container with lid and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
5)Tear lettuce (choose one lettuce or a combination of several greens) into bite-size pieces and add to the mandarin orange mixture.

SERVING
6) Now add the thinly sliced avocado slices,if desired and serve.
