Green Beans A La Nicoise

Ingredients
  Olive oil 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Onion 1 , sliced thin
  Canned italian plum tomatoes 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Green pepper 1⁄2 , chopped
  Chopped celery 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Water 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Freshly ground black pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Cloves 2
  Bay leaf 1
  Parsley sprigs 6
  Dried chervil 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Green beans 1 Pound, cooked until tender and drained
Directions

1. In a skillet heat the oil, add the onion and cook until golden brown. Add the tomatoes, green pepper, celery, water, salt and pepper.
2. Tie the cloves, bay leaf, parsley and chervil in a small cheesecloth bag and add to the vegetables. Simmer, uncovered, about twenty-five minutes. Add the beans and continue simmering until the beans are hot. Remove the spice bag.
