Grilled Ham Salad Sandwiches
|Finely chopped cooked ham||1 Cup (16 tbs), or ground|
|Hard-cooked eggs||2 , chopped|
|Lemon juice||1 Teaspoon|
|Spicy brown mustard||1 Teaspoon (Prepared)|
|Worcestershire sauce||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Chopped sweet green peppers||2 Tablespoon|
|Chopped sour pickle/Finely chopped dill pickle||2 Tablespoon|
|Milk||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Butter/Margarine||4 Tablespoon (1/2 Stick)|
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ham, hard-cooked eggs, lemon juice, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, green pepper, and mayonnaise, and the pickle if used. Spread the ham mixture on 4 slices of the bread, and top with the remaining bread.
2. In a shallow bowl or pie plate, beat together the raw egg and milk. Carefully holding each sandwich to keep the filling intact, dip it quickly on each side into the egg and milk mixture.
3. Melt the butter in a heavy 12-inch skillet over moderate heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet, and cook, uncovered, for 4 or 5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
