1 head iceberg lettuce or 1 bunch leaf lettuce, torn into bite-size pieces
1/2 cup chopped green onions with tops
4 slices bacon
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1 teaspoon sweet basil or any salad herb
2 tablespoons half-and-half or commercial sour cream
Combine lettuce and onion in salad bowl.
Cook bacon until crisp; remove from skillet; reserve drippings.
Cut bacon into small pieces.
Add vinegar, basil, and half-and-half to bacon drippings; heat to boiling.
Add bacon; pour over lettuce.
Garnish with egg
