Almost Caesar Salad
|French loaf/Italian bread||1|
|Vegetable oil||1 1⁄2 Tablespoon|
|Finely chopped garlic||3 Teaspoon|
|Lemon juice||4 Tablespoon|
|Dijon mustard||2 Teaspoon|
|Worcestershire sauce||1 Teaspoon|
|Ground black pepper||To Taste|
|Romaine lettuce head||2 Medium, torn into bite size pieces|
|Grated parmesan||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Cut a loaf of French or Italian bread into 1 1/2"slices. Cut slices into cubes.
Pour oil into a skillet and heat until a haze appears. Brown bread in oil on all sides. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on several thicknesses of paper towels.
Combine all ingredients in a blender and whirl until well mixed.
To Assemble and Serve:
Place blended dressing in the bottom of a wooden salad bowl.
Add torn greens and toss to coat with dressing. Add Parmesan and toss again. Scatter croutons over salad and serve.
