|Carrots||1 Cup (16 tbs), grated|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Mayonnaise||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Wash and peel the pears.
Cut each into two, lengthwise.
Scoop out the seeds carefully.
Make sugar syrup with one cup water and one cup sugar.
Soak pear halves in this syrup for two hours.
Wash lettuce and separate leaves; arrange on a plate.
Place pear halves on lettuce with cut side up.
Let the narrow portion of the pear point to the centre.
Put one tablespoon thick mayonnaise in the centre of pear halves.
Place a sprig of mint.
In between pear halves, place grated carrot, mixed with a little mayonnaise.
