Fresh & Tasty Fruit Salad
|Water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Mixed fruits||2 Pound|
Put the water, with thin strips of orange and lemon rind, into a pan.
Take just the top 'zest' from the fruit.
Simmer for 5 minutes.
Add the sugar, stir until dissolved then add the orange and lemon juice.
Strain over the prepared fruit, allow to become cold.
To vary: Add a little sherry, kirsch, Cointreau or Maraschino to the syrup.
Use all fresh orange and lemon juice, omit the water and sugar.
