Wilted Lettuce Salad Using Cider Vinegar
|Lettuce head||1 , torn into bite-size pieces|
|Green onions||2 , sliced|
|Cider vinegar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Dry mustard||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
Cook bacon, covered with paper towel, 2 3/4 to 3 1/4 minutes or until crisp.
Reserve 2 tablespoons drippings for dressing.
Combine lettuce and onions in salad bowl; refrigerate until ready to serve.
In 1-cup measure, measure vinegar.
Add bacon drippings, sugar, water, salt, mustard and pepper.
Cook uncovered, 1 minute or until mixture boils; stir to dissolve sugar.
Pour over salad greens, tossing to coat.
Garnish with crumbled bacon.
