Garden Salad With Almonds And Oranges

Ingredients
  Iceberg lettuce head 1 , washed, tore and chill
  Romaine lettuce head 1
  Almonds 1 Cup (16 tbs), sliced or slivered
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Vegetable oil 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Vinegar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Parsley flakes 1 Tablespoon
  Black pepper 1 Dash
  Red pepper 1 Dash
  Green onion tops 6 , thinly sliced
  Canned mandarin oranges 22 Ounce, drained and chilled (1 Can)
Directions

MAKING
1) In a saucepan, place together almonds and 1/4 cup sugar.
2) Heat the almond mixture, stirring until sugar browns.
3) Remove the pan off the heat.
4) Spread the caramelized almonds on an ungreased cookie sheet and allow to cool.
5) Break the caramelized almonds into tiny pieces and set aside.

FINALIZING
6) In a bowl, mix together oil, vinegar, salt, parsley, black pepper, red pepper, and the remaining sugar.
7) Put the lid on bowl and refrigerate.
8) When ready to serve, combine lettuce, green onions, almonds, and oranges.
9) Toss the lettuce with desired amount of dressing

SERVING
10) Pile the Garden Salad With Almonds And Oranges in serving plate and serve cold.
