Mandarin orange and red onion salad is a nutty vegetable salad. Fruited with orange sections and tossed with almonds for a sweet and mild crunch, the mandarin orange and red onion salad is a peppy side to serve. Mixed with a lemon mustard dressing, it is flavorful and cheery!
  Almonds 1 Cup (16 tbs), sliced
  Butter 1 Tablespoon
  Lemon juice 2 Tablespoon
  Dijon mustard 1 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  White pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Vegetable oil 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Romaine lettuce head 1 , torn in pieces
  Canned mandarin orange segments 11 Ounce (1 Can. Drained)
  Red onion 1 Small, separated into rings

Saute almonds in butter until golden; reserve.
Combine next 5 ingredients.
Whisk in oil.
Combine lettuce, oranges, onion and almonds.
Toss with dressing.
