Creamy Golden Waldorf
|Lemon flavored gelatin||6 Ounce|
|Hot water||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Lemon juice||1 Tablespoon|
|Golden delicious apples||3 Medium|
|Mayonnaise||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Heavy cream||1 Cup (16 tbs), whipped|
|Finely chopped celery||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Finely chopped walnuts||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Dissolve gelatin and salt in hot water in bowl; stir in 2 tablespoons lemon juice.
Chill until thickened.
Partially pare 2 apples; core; dice.
Skin will add color to salad.
Core remaining apple; cut into thin slices.
Sprinkle diced and sliced apples with lemon juice to prevent discoloration.
Arrange apple slices, skin-side-down, around bottom of 8-cup mold.
Blend mayonnaise into thickened gelatin; fold in whipped cream.
Gently fold in diced apples, celery, and walnuts; spoon carefully over apple slices.
Chill until firm.
Unmold onto salad platter; garnish with salad greens.
