Occidental Chocolate Rum Ring
|Flour||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Chocolate||2 Cup (32 tbs), ground|
|Sugar||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Tablespoon|
|Butter||1 Cup (16 tbs), softened|
|Half and half||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Rum||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Into large mixer bowl, sift flour with Ground Chocolate, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Add butter, half and half and vanilla to center of dry ingredients.
Mix together and beat on high speed 5 minutes.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Mix in rum.
Pour into well-greased 10-inch angel food cake pan.
Bake at 325°F for approximately 1 1/2 hours.
Slices of cake may be served with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce or simply dusted with sifted powdered sugar.
