Sweet Roll

Sweet rolls are type of soft bread usually eaten for breakfast. They are made from yeast dough which makes them soft and they have a sweet filling or topping. Sweet rolls are usually made fresh but they are also available packaged in the markets. Varieties of Sweet Rolls Many varieties of sweet rolls are available and they are named after the topping or filling used in them. Cinnamon Roll – Rolled out dough is layered with cinnamon powder and sugar, then rolled and baked. Slices are cut and served hot. Pinwheel Roll – These are pinwheel shaped rolls which are topped with jam. Hot cross Buns – These are round buns with a spice filling and they have a cross made from dough strips on them, thus the name. Danish pastry – Rolls made from this pastry are made with a filling which can be sweet or savory.
