Regular Parker House Rolls

Ingredients
  Milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Yeast 1 Tablespoon
  Sugar 4 Tablespoon
  Sifted flour 4 Cup (64 tbs)
  Salt 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Egg 1
  Melted shortening 4 Tablespoon
  Butter 1 Tablespoon
Directions

Cool milk to lukewarm.
Sprinkle yeast into mixing bowl; add sugar.
Add milk to yeast mixture; stir well.
Add half the flour and salt; mix well.
Add egg and shortening; beat thoroughly.
Add remaining flour gradually; mix well.
Let rise until doubled in bulk; roll dough out on floured board to 1/2-inch thickness.
Cut into rounds with small biscuit cutter.
Crease with dull side of knife just to sides of center.
Brush with melted butter; fold smaller sides over wider sides.
Place on greased baking pan.
Let rise until doubled in bulk.
Bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.
