Rhubarb Dessert Rolls

Ingredients
  Sugar 1
  Baking powder 3 Teaspoon
  Flour 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Shortening 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Melted butter 1
  Rhubarb 3 Cup (48 tbs), diced
Directions

Combine 1 1/2 cups sugar and 1 1/2 cups water; cook for 5 minutes;.
Pour syrup into 12 x 8-inch baking pan.
Sift flour with baking powder, salt and 1/3 cup sugar; cut in shortening.
Add milk; stir until blended.
Roll dough into 1 /8-inch thick square on floured board.
Brush with melted butter.
Spread rhubarb over dough; roll jelly roll fashion.
Cut roll into slices; place slices in syrup.
Bake at 400 degrees for 40 minutes.
