Beef Rolls

  Beef round 2 Pound (Cut 1/4 Inch Thick)
  Dill pickle 1 Large
  Bacon slices 4
  Peeled onions 2 Small, thinly sliced
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
  Fat/Salad oil 2 Tablespoon

Cut beef into 8 strips about 4"x2 1/2".
Cut pickle in eighths and bacon in halves.
On each strip of beef, place crosswise a piece of pickle, a bacon strip, and two onion slices.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper; roll each one up.
Tie with string.
Saute in fat in a skillet until brown.
Barely cover with hot water; let simmer, covered, about 2 hrs., or until tender, adding more hot water if necessary.
Make gravy, and serve over rolls, from which strings have been removed.
