Add the lard, the finely chopped onions and salt to 1 pt. of water.
Bring to boil, add washed rice, bring to boil again.
Put into oven and steam for 18-20 mins.
Take out of oven, stir with fork, add butter and finely chopped parsley.
The onion may be added whole if preferred, in this case it should be taken out of rice before serving.
