In a saucepan, combine 1 cup raw regular rice, cold water, salt and butter.
Turn heat to high.
When water just begins to boil, stir once with fork, reset heat to mediumlow, cover and simmer for 18 to 20 minutes, or until all liquid is absorbed.
Measure 2 cups warm rice and combine with sugar.
Add pineapple, apple and marshmallows.
Let stand 1 hour.
Whip cream with vanilla and fold into rice mixture.
