Italian dishes with rice are known for their yummy twist, this Rice With Peas (Risi E Bisi) proves it. This Rice With Peas (Risi E Bisi) can be prepared easily and is served best when sprinkled with cheese.
  Butter/Margarine 20 Gram
  Olive oil 3 Tablespoon
  Spring onions 8
  Rice 375 Gram
  Ham 1⁄4 Pound, chopped
  Chicken stock 5 Cup (80 tbs)
  Shelled peas 1 Pound
  Cream 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Grated parmesan cheese 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Butter/Margarine 1 Tablespoon

Saute the chopped onions in the butter or margarine and olive oil until transparent.
Add the rice and mix thoroughly.
Stir in the ham.
Mix in the stock and bring to a boil.
Add the peas, cover and cook over a low heat for about twenty minutes or until rice is cooked and the stock is absorbed.
Before serving, mix in the cream, half the cheese and a little butter or margarine.
Sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
