Nasi Goreng

Nasi Goreng translated into english is "Fried Rice". Nasi goreng is considered the national dish of Indonesia. It can be enjoyed in its simplest manifestation from a tin plate at a roadside waroeng, travelling night hawker's cart; eaten on porcelain in restaurants, or constructed at the buffet tables of Jakarta dinner parties. Nasi Goreng has ample number of variations to it, this is just one of them.
Ingredients
  Long grain rice 350 Gram
  Vegetable oil 2 Tablespoon
  Eggs 3
  Onion 1 , chopped
  Chilies 2
  Sambal olek 2 Tablespoon
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm)
  Leek 1
  Ground coriander 1 Teaspoon
  Ground cumin 1 Teaspoon
  Chicken meat 250 Gram
  Shelled prawns 250 Gram
  Sweet soy sauce 3 Tablespoon
Directions

GETTING READY
1. Cook a fresh batch of rice and cool for 4 hours.
2. In a hot wok, make an omelet with beaten eggs, cut into strips and set aside.

MAKING
3. In a wok, heat oil. Add chopped onion, leek, garlic and chillis, fry until onions are soft.
4. Add Coriander and Cumin powders. Add sliced chicken strips and prawns and stir fry.
5. Add rice, sweet soya sauce, sambal olek and omelet strips and cook for another 5 minutes.

SERVING
6. In a plate garnish the nasi goreng with some sliced leeks. Serve hot with fried Prawn, two chicken satays and a sunny side up on the top.

TIPS
One day old rice tastes best for Nasi goreng.
