Plain Boiled Rice
|Long grain rice||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Water||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
Combine all the ingredients in a 2-3-quart heavy-bottomed pot with tight-fitting lid.
Bring to boil, cover, and turn flame as low as it will go.
Leave for 25 to 30 minutes.
Lift cover and quickly check to see if rice is cooked through.
Turn off heat, and leave lid on until ready to serve.
When cooking plain boiled rice, I always cook more than I need because there are such wonderful ways of dressing up cooked rice.
I cover and refrigerate the leftovers, and cook them for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.)
