Brown Rice Milanese
|Butter||2 Tablespoon (1/4 Stick)|
|Shallots||2 , chopped|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), minced|
|Dried chives||3 Tablespoon|
|Dried dill||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Short-grain brown rice||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Cold water||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Freshly grated romano cheese||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Melt butter in large skillet or shallow heatproof casserole over medium heat.
Add shallot and garlic and saute until tender.
Add chives and dill and saute an additional 1 to 2 minutes.
Stir in rice and saute until it begins to crackle.
Add water and bring to boil.
Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 45 minutes (do not remove cover during cooking time).
Remove from heat and add cheese, tossing lightly until cheese melted.
