Rice A La Grecque
|Sweet butter||3 Tablespoon|
|Garlic cloves||1 Small, crushed|
|Green lettuce leaves||4 , shredded|
|Fresh pork sausage||2 , sliced|
|Mushrooms||3 , sliced|
|Tomatoes||3 , peeled, seeded and diced|
|Raw rice||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Boiling water/Chicken broth||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Freshly ground black pepper||1 Dash|
|Cooked peas||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Raisins||2 Tablespoon, sauteed in butter|
1. Melt two tablespoons of the butter in a large saucepan and brown the onion in it. Add the garlic, lettuce, sausages, mushrooms and tomatoes. Add the rice and mix well together.
2. Add the boiling water, salt and pepper. Cover tightly and cook over low heat twenty minutes. Mix well with a fork and add the remaining ingredients. Serve with lamb or poultry, or use for stuffing poultry or veal.
