Turmeric Rice

Ingredients
  Long grain rice 1 Pound
  Salt To Taste
  Water 2 Pint
  Ground turmeric 1 Teaspoon
  Chili powder 1 Pinch
  Bay leaf 1
Directions

Wash the rice and soak it in cold water for about 30 minutes.
Drain thoroughly.
Cook the rice in boiling salted water, with the spices and bay leaf added, until just tender, about 15 minutes.
Dry the rice, uncovered in a moderate oven, 325°F, Gas Mark 3 until the grains are separate and fluffy.
