Broiled Steaks & Wild Rice
|Long grain and wild rice||6 Ounce (1 Package)|
|Water||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Dry red wine||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Dairy sour cream||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sliced fresh mushrooms||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Worcestershire sauce||1 Teaspoon|
|Strip steaks||4 (1 Inch Thick)|
Cook contents of rice and seasoning packets with water, wine and 1 tablespoon butter or margarine according to package directions.
Fold in sour cream.
Saute" mushrooms in 3 tablespoons butter or margarine 5 minutes.
Add Worcestershire sauce; keep warm.
About 10 minutes before rice is done, start broiling steaks in preheated broiler.
Broil to desired degree of doneness.
For medium-rare, broil 1-1/2 to 2 inches from heat source, 5 to 7 minutes per side.
Top steaks with mushrooms.
