Spicy Yellow Rice

Ingredients
  Vegetable cooking spray 1
  Chopped onion 1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)
  Long grain rice 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), uncooked
  Water 30 Tablespoon (1 3/4 Cups Plus 2 Tablespoons)
  Ground turmeric 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Hot sauce 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Garlic powder 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Bay leaf 1
Directions

Coat a large non stick skillet with cooking spray; place over medium-high heat until hot.
Add onion, and saute until tender.
Add rice, stirring gently.
Add water and remaining ingredients to rice mix- Iture; bring to a boil.
Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 22 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
Remove and discard bay leaf.
