Spicy Yellow Rice
|Vegetable cooking spray||1|
|Chopped onion||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Long grain rice||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), uncooked|
|Water||30 Tablespoon (1 3/4 Cups Plus 2 Tablespoons)|
|Ground turmeric||3⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Hot sauce||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Garlic powder||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
Coat a large non stick skillet with cooking spray; place over medium-high heat until hot.
Add onion, and saute until tender.
Add rice, stirring gently.
Add water and remaining ingredients to rice mix- Iture; bring to a boil.
Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 22 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
Remove and discard bay leaf.
