Homemade Orange Rice
|Celery||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs), sliced|
|Onion||2 Tablespoon, chopped|
|Water||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Orange peel||2 Tablespoon, grated|
|Orange juice||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Salt||1 1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Rice||1 Cup (16 tbs) (uncooked)|
Melt butter in a heavy saucepan with a cover; add celery and onion; and cook, stirring occasionally, until tender and light brown.
Stir in water, orange peel and juice, and salt; then bring to a boil.
Add rice, cover, and steam over low heat for 20 to 25 minutes, or until rice is tender.
