Spicy Rice Powder
|Rice||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Szechuan peppercorns||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Five spice powder||1 Teaspoon|
Heat a medium skillet 30 seconds to 1 minute over high heat.
Add rice, star anise and peppercorns to hot skillet.
Reduce heat to low.
Stir-fry 6 to 8 minutes until rice is lightly browned.
Remove skillet from heat and let cool.
Put browned rice mixture in blender with five-spice powder and process until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
