Orloff rice is a rice and egg recipe cooked with butter to taste. Flavored with added onions, it is baked to cook and can be served along side a turkey. Filling and homely, it can be fixed with a handful of ingredients and makes a full meal.
|Long grain rice||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Water||8 Cup (128 tbs)|
|Butter stick||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (1/2 Stick)|
|Onion||1 Medium, chopped|
|Egg||1 , beaten|
Cook rice, uncovered, 5 minutes in boiling water.
Melt butter in 2-quart baking dish.
Stir in onion and rice.
Cover and bake alongside turkey 1 hour, stirring after 30 minutes.
Blend egg into cooked rice; keep warm.
