Saucy Turkey And Rice
|Uncooked rice||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Onion||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), chopped|
|Celery||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), chopped|
|Green pepper||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), chopped|
|Chicken broth||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Seasoned salt||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Flour||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Milk||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Instant chicken bouillon||1 Teaspoon|
|Cooked turkey||2 Cup (32 tbs), cubed|
Combine rice, onion, celery and green pepper in 2-quart casserole.
Add chicken broth and salt.
MICRO WAVE 13 MINUTES on HIGH.
Let stand, covered, while preparing sauce.
Place butter in 1 1/2-quart casserole.
MICROWAVE on HIGH, until melted.
Stir in flour to make a smooth paste.
Gradually add milk, stirring until blended.
MICRO WAVE 6 MINUTES on 8 or until thickened, stirring after 4 minutes.
Beat in salt, paprika and bouillon with a wire whip until bouillon is dissolved and sauce is smooth.
Stir in turkey.
MICROWAVE 5 MINUTES on '8', or until hot.
For ovens without solid state heat control, when cooking sauce, MICROWAVE 5 MINUTES on HIGH, stirring twice during second half of cooking period.
MICROWAVE 3 to 4 MINUTES on HIGH.
