Indian Style Brown Rice
|Basmati rice||1 Cup (16 tbs), washed and soaked for 30 minutes and drained|
|Cumin seeds||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Cinnamon||1 Inch, broken in pieces|
|Fried onion garlic||1 Tablespoon|
|Sugar||2 Teaspoon (Caramelize The Sugar With 1 Tablespoon Water, 1 Heaped Teaspoon)|
|Water||1 Tablespoon (For Caramelizing The Sugar)|
|Hot water||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Sliced fried browned onion||1 Tablespoon (For Garnish, Leaving Out Garlic)|
Microwave in a deep bowl, oil, cummin seeds, cloves, cardamoms, peppercorns cinnamon, onion and garlic, and fry until the onion is browned.
Mix in the caramalised sugar, rice and salt and saute for a minute.
Mix in hot water and microwave for 20 minutes.
Let it stand for 5 minutes.
Fluff up the rice with a fork, to separate the grains of rice.
This rice can be made in advance.
When ready to serve fork it with 1/4 cup water and microwave for 3 minutes.
