Spicy Barbecued Ribs
|Onions||2 , quartered|
|Canned tomato sauce||24 Ounce (3 Can)|
|Dark brown sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Onion||3 Tablespoon, chopped|
|Lemons juice||1 Teaspoon|
|Prepared mustard||1 Teaspoon|
|Oil||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Angostura aromatic bitters||2 Tablespoon|
1)On a chopping board, cut the spareribs into generous serving pieces and season with salt and pepper.
2)Take a large kettle. Add in the spareribs along with onions and cover with water.
3)Bring to a boil. Then, reduce the heat and simmer for about 1 hour or until the meat is tender.
4)Remove from heat and drain. Transfer the contents to a shallow pan.
5)In a saucepan, mix tomato sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, mustard, oil and Angostura bitters. Let it simmer for 15 minutes,
6)Pour the sauce over the meat and onions in the shallow pan.
7)Let it marinate in the refrigerator for a minimum of 2 hours.
8)Remove the ribs from the marinade and place the on a grill over hot coals. Turn often.
9)Baste several times while turning.
10)Or the ribs covered in the sauce can also be placed in an uncovered baking pan and roasted in a hot oven(400° F) for 45 minutes, or till the meat has browned and glazed.
11)Baste often with sauce.
12)Remove from the grill and serve immediately.
