Sweet and Sour Spareribs
|Meaty pork spareribs||3 Pound|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Lemon juice||3 Tablespoon|
|Strained apricots/Apricots-and-applesauce /pears||7 1⁄2 Ounce (1 small jar)|
|Molasses||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Dark corn syrup||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Ground ginger||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Hot pepper sauce||1 Dash|
|Chili sauce||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), pressed (small clove)|
|Soy sauce||1 Tablespoon|
|Dry mustard||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Sprinkle ribs with salt and pepper.
Broil 3 to 5 minutes per side.
Place in 9 x l3-inch baking dish.
For sauce: Mix all ingredients in 1-quart pan.
Heat briefly on medium-low, stirring until combined.
Reduce oven to 350°F.
Pour half the sauce over ribs and bake uncovered 30 minutes.
Pour remaining sauce over spareribs and continue baking for another 30 minutes.
