Blackened Prime Rib

Ingredients
  Blackening spices 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 2 Teaspoon
  Sweet paprika 2 Teaspoon
  Pepper white 2 Teaspoon
  Onion powder 1 Teaspoon
  Garlic powder 1 Teaspoon
  Cayenne pepper 1 Teaspoon
  Black pepper 2 Teaspoon
  Dried thyme 1 Teaspoon
  Dried basil 1 Teaspoon
  Dry mustard 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Boneless rib steak 6 , trimmed of fat
  Unsalted butter 1 Cup (16 tbs), melted (2 Sticks)
Directions

Combine all the ingredients for the spice mixture and stir to blend.
Brush the steaks generously with the melted butter.
Dredge them evenly in the blackening mixture.
Heat a large cast-iron skillet over high heat until it is smoking.
Place the steaks in the pan without crowding them.
Cook them on the first side until the blood rises to the surface, about 2 minutes.
Turn the steaks and blacken them on the second side, about 2 minutes for medium rare.
Place the steaks on heated plates, top each with a little melted butter, and serve.
