Spicy Spareribs

You might be anxious by looking at the ingredients in this Spicy Spareribs. But, trust me, Spicy Spareribs cannot get any better. Tastes awesome!
  Lean small spareribs 4 Pound
  Sherry 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Pineapple juice 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Cloves 1⁄2 Teaspoon, ground
  Brown sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm), crushed
  Mustard 2 Teaspoon
  Apricot jam 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste

Place ribs on a rack in a roasting pan, and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Place in a hot oven (400 °F.) for 20 minutes or so, to render off excess fat.
Place ribs in crock cooker.
Blend together remaining ingredients, and pour over ribs.
Cover and cook at Low heat for 7 to 9 hours, or until meat is very tender.
Drain off excess fat, and serve cooking sauce over ribs.
