Barbecued Beef Short Ribs

Ingredients
  Butter/Margarine 1 Tablespoon
  Chopped onion 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  All purpose flour 1 1⁄3 Tablespoon (1 Tablespoon Plus 1 Teaspoon)
  Apple cider/Apple juice 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sweet pickle relish 3 Tablespoon
  Catsup 1 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Dried basil 1⁄4 Teaspoon (Whole)
  Ground allspice 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Ground cloves 1 Dash
  Beef short ribs 4 Pound
Directions

Melt butter in a medium saucepan over low heat; add chopped onion, and saute until onion is tender.
Add flour, stirring well.
Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Gradually add apple cider, and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.
Stir in remaining ingredients except ribs.
Remove sauce from heat, and set aside.
Cut ribs into serving-size pieces, and grill over low coals 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Baste ribs with sauce, and grill an additional 20 minutes or until desired degree of doneness.
Turn and baste frequently with sauce.
