New Delhi Indian Restaurant is the oldest running Indian restaurant in Philadelphia, and has been serving this University City since 1988. Ever since its establishment, the place has welcomed University students, staff and faculty who pass through this University City. New Delhi preserves the essence of Indian taste, and retains the flavor and quality of Indian food. They offer different types of Tandoori delights, vegetable delicacies, meat delights, biriyani and pulao, tandoori breads, side dishes, beverages and ethnic desserts.  Chicken Tikka Masala, Dal Makhni, Chicken wings, salad and samosa are some of the chief attractions of the place. The lunches cost $8.95 and dinner costs $11.95 (October 2010 rates).  The restaurant operates 6 days a week and operation time is between 11.30 AM and 10 PM from Sunday to Thursday and 11.30 AM and 11 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. The restaurant is closed on Mondays.

The Taj Mahal Restaurant


The Taj Mahal Restaurant is popular for its North Indian and Mughlai cuisines. It won the recognition for the best Indian restaurant in Pittsburgh for the year 2010. This place serves authentic Indian food retaining its original flavor and taste. The people behind the Taj say that they always maintain integrity of the food by preparing fresh spice mix and using all fresh ingredients. Healthy news is that at Taj Mahal they  use very little oil for food preparation and don’t use any preservatives. They offer you wide varieties of Tandoori breads, kababs, dosas, tandoori meats, exotic Indian curries, basmati rice preparations, salads, soups and authentic desserts. They serve lunch buffets between 11 AM and 3PM (on all days), special dinner buffets are served between 3PM and 10 PM (on Monday and Thursday), and dinner is served between 3PM and 10 PM on Monday to Thursday, and 3PM to 10.30 PM on Friday and Saturdays.

Zaiaka Indian Restaurant

 

Zaiaka, which operates in the Pittsburgh area, is a latest addition to the brood of restaurants which offer ethnic Indian food around Pennsylvania. You can choose your pick from assortment of traditional appetizers, tandoori appetizers, soups and salads, breads, chicken dishes, rice dishes, seafood dishes, vegetarian dishes, and desserts.  This place is famous for succulent Malai Kababs, cream of spinach soup, vegetable biriyani, chilli chicken, chicken makhan wala, karahi gosht, Goa shrimp curry, and palak paneer.  It serves daily lunch buffet from 11am to 2:30pm and dinner from 5pm to 9:30pm.

Taste of India has been welcoming eaters since 1991. Here you can choose between a wide assortment of chicken and lamb dishes. The restaurant offers lunch and dinner buffets. The restaurant serves lunch from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm on Monday to Saturday, and dinner is served between 5:00 pm and 10 pm from Sunday to Thursday and 5:00 pm to 10:30 pm from Friday to Saturday.

The Tandoor Indian Grill is located in Pittsburgh’s most pleasant settings, and is famous for its food and staff. It operates between 11:00 to 21:30 hrs between Monday and Thursday, 11:00 to 22:00 Hrs on Friday & Saturday, 12:00 to 20:00 hrs on Sundays.
