Raisin Oat Squares

If you like raisins and oats then you'll love this Raisin Oat Squares - a rich and filling snack. Try out this rather simple recipe to make your own Rasin Oat Squares and of course, they taste awesome!
Ingredients
  Shortening 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Brown sugar 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), firmly packed
  Molasses 2 Tablespoon
  Egg 1
  Sifted flour 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Soda 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Quick cooking oats 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Seedless raisins 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Melt shortening in a medium-sized saucepan.
Remove from heat and stir in sugar and molasses.
Add egg and beat thor- oughly.
Sift together flour, salt and soda.
Add flour mixture, oats and raisins to molasses mixture and mix well.
Turn into a greased, 8-inch-square pan.
Bake in a moderate oven (350° F) about 25 minutes.
Cool and cut into squares.
