Quick Raisin Cookies
|Shortening||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs), firmly packed|
|Milk||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|All-purpose flour||2 Cup (32 tbs), sifted|
|Baking powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Seedless raisins||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
1)In a large saucepan, melt shortening and add sugar. Cool to lukewarm.
2)Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.
3)Add milk and mix well.
4)In another bowl, sift together flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.
5)Mix it with shortening mixture.
6)Add raisins and stir.
7)Take greased baking sheets and drop spoonful of batter on them.
8)Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 to 20 minutes.
9)Serve the quick raisin cookies with tea.
