Valentine Quiche Without A Crust
|Fresh bread cubes||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Chopped onion||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Ham||1⁄2 Pound, sliced 1/4 inch thick|
|Natural swiss cheese||12 Ounce, grated|
|All purpose flour||2 Tablespoon|
|Light cream/Half and half||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Ground red pepper||1 Dash|
1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
2. Lightly butter a 10-inch ceramic quiche dish or an 11-inch pie plate, using 1/2 teaspoon butter.
3 On a baking sheet, spread bread cubes.
4 Place in oven.
5 Toast, stirring occasionally for about 5 minutes or, until lightly browned.
6 Spread the bottom of prepared dish with toasted bread cubes.
7 In a large skillet, melt the remaining 1/2 teaspoon butter.
8 Add in onion, and saute stirring occasionally, until golden for 3 to 5 minutes.
9 Using a 2-inch heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut 6 hearts from ham.
10 Set aside.
11 Coarsely chop the scraps of ham.
12 Sprinkle over bread in dish.
13 Layer onion and cheese over ham.
14 Serve at once.
