|Ginger garlic paste||1 Tablespoon|
|Chili powder||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Turmeric powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Sambhar powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Parsi dhansakh masala||1 Teaspoon|
1. Soak the rajma beans overnight. This makes them swell and they are easier to cook. Wash twice the next morning.
2. Place the rajma in a pressure cooker along with the turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste and five cups of water. Add salt to taste and cook till soft.
3. Take a heavy vessel and place half a cup of oil in it. Place the chopped onions in the oil and cook till soft and pink. Add all the spice powders, and lower the flame. Add the tomatoes and allow to soften. Add the cooked beans along with the coconut milk. Stir well, add the jaggery and allow to simmer slowly till only a thick gravy and the beans remain.
