Pasta with Ham and Black Eyed Peas

Ingredients
  Olive oil 1 Tablespoon
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm), chopped fine (Medium Sized)
  Onion 1 Small, chopped fine
  Light style ham 3⁄4 Pound, cut into 1/2 inch chunks
  Reduced chicken broth 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Canned black eyed peas 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), rinsed and drained
  Finely chopped fresh chives 2 Tablespoon
  Finely chopped italian parsley 1 Tablespoon (Fresh)
  Pasta 1 Pound, cooked and drained
Directions

In a large saucepan, heat the oil with the garlic and onion over moderate heat.
When they sizzle, add the ham and saute just until it begins to brown, about 5 minutes.
Add the broth and the black-eyed peas and simmer just until the peas are heated through, about 3 minutes more.
Stir in the chives and parsley and ladle over cooked pasta.
