|Sifted all purpose flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Baking powder||3 Teaspoon|
|Ground cinnamon||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Ground nutmeg||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Shredded pared apple||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Chopped california walnuts||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Eggs||2 , beaten|
|Milk||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Shortening||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), melted and cooled|
|Whole wheat/Bran flakes||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Sift together first 5 ingredients.
Stir in apple, brown sugar, and walnuts.
Combine eggs, milk, and shortening; add all at once, stirring just to blend.
Fold in cereal flakes.
Fill greased muffin pans 2/3, full.
Bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes.
